Music Groups
Music bands can look back on a long tradition in rural areas. Friends of brass bands and marching music join together to form groups, and then display their skills at rural festivals, weddings, and processions.
In Olang/Valdaora, we are especially proud of two of our music bands: The Peter Sigmair Band and the Olang/Valdaora Pastor Music Band.
In the summer months, the evenings in Olang/Valdaora are enriched by the sweet melodies performed by our music bands.
The close and intimate relationship to music of the people of our region has encouraged the formation of numerous different choirs and singing groups. The best-known and perhaps also most-important is the Church Choir, which performs not only at religious festivals, but are happy to lend their voices at all kinds of events and celebrations.
In years gone by, the “Sharpshooters” defended Tyrol’s freedom. Today, they dress up in their traditional garb and take part in colorful processions through the streets.
